Tweed DK yarn and the coloured bits are Hedgehog's own hand-dyed waste - the ties that they take off the hand dyed skeins. Add some recycled yarn and you have Tweedy DK. It just calls for sweaters and cardigans.
Hedgehog Fibres have been collecting their ties for a while and finally found a mill that could process these, which means re-carding them, blending and spinning into yarn again.
Hedgehog fibres are always looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly and to minimise waste. On top of using their thread waste they are also using recycled wool, making 50% of the total content recycled. The result is awesome! It's soft, yet wooly. Not superwash and it blooms beautifully after washing.
